The Fujifilm Group operates under the corporate philosophy of using “leading-edge, proprietary technologies to provide top-quality products and services that contribute to the advancement of culture, science, technology and industry, as well as improved health and environmental protection in society.” Through those practices, the Group sets its sights on the overarching aim of helping “enhance the quality of life of people worldwide.” By embracing this vision and pursuing proactive business activities, the Group will NEVER STOP innovating to create new value and contributing to the resolution of a wide range of social issues.
Fujifilm Group was looking for a translation partner who could help them in translating their documents and reports.
The Japanese multinational conglomerate had zero error tolerance. They were critical about accuracy and precision in the translation. Even a minute inaccuracy could lead to serious repercussions for the client.
The client required native translators with specializations across Pharmaceutical, Microbiology & Medicine. Requirement of native translators was important since these translators are specialists who are fluent in the target language as a native speaker. Also they develop an instinctive understanding of the structure and usage commonly expressed since they have grown up speaking the language. A team of such subject-specific translators and in-house quality experts was required.
The most challenging part was the translation of English < > Japanese language pair for a client like Fujifilm. It was even more challenging to get native translators who are not only competent in diversified medical subject areas but also skilled in fluent translation, and delivering high quality translation.
Projects for Fujifilm client necessitated complex theories and terms. Translators have to elude any scope of misinterpretation or incorrect translation when translating from a challenging language like English < > Japanese. Our experienced Project Management (PM) team arranged for skilled translators, checkers, and proof-readers who are subject matter experts to ensure we provide technically accurate translations. They are accustomed with terms used in the industry and have high experience in translating for the pharma and medical sector.
A strict quality check system was built for the client. We were aware about the criticality and accuracy of the translation expected by the client. Ulatus quality management system was activated where each and every project is doubled-checked after each stage of translation. Ulatus terminology management system was used with the help of CAT tools to ensure adherence to technical terms. Finally, the project manager proofread the project before delivering to the client.
Every member of the translation team was pre-screened and tested for their subject-matter expertise, not just with respect to the pharmaceutical / medical discipline, but also their experience of working on various reports and the like. A team of expert linguists from our rich database of 1000+ translators was setup who can handle 1500+ subjects and a customized workflow was designed to ensure the projects are effectively translated and checked at all stages.
