The client required translation company that could provide MTPE
(Machine Translation Post Editing) services for Japanese to Korean language pair and
complete the translation of more than 300,000 characters within a month. The documents
in question were advertisement materials for an American multinational e-commerce
company which required precision in localizing the content. The PE work needed to be
performed on the machine-translated output using guidelines provided by the client.
Our client required competent and reliable partner to undertake Japanese to Korean language translation project for their end client, an American multinational e-commerce company. The success of this vital project relied heavily on engaging a translation company with extensive experience, robust infrastructure, and cutting-edge technology.
Our client required a high volume project to be completed within a short timeframe of 1 month. A provisional delivery of 50% of the total volume was due in just two weeks from the start date, making time a critical factor. The advertising materials that served as the source texts presented a difficulty due to their rudimentary nature, and demanded a scrupulous translation process that ensured the translated content remained faithful to the original wording.
The project involved a localization endeavour and the client's budget was constrained. Our Project Management (PM) team encountered the challenge of optimizing every minute and utilizing the budget efficiently while managing various aspects of MTPE for the advertising materials.
We assembled a team of 5 outstanding linguists to work on this project, each having a specialization in MTPE with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Additionally, a few backup linguists were selected to ensure continuity of the project in case any of the 5 primary linguists were unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. Ulatus also employed their sophisticated in-house proprietary Machine Translation tools to attain the highest quality output.
Before their onboarding and alignment to the project, the linguists underwent tests
to assess their competency in the subject matter and their understanding of machine
translation quality and its enhancement.
To guarantee that everything was covered within the tight deadline, we employed a
"maker-checker" approach for the project. The PM team scrutinized each phase of the
project and verified that it was progressing as planned, while the linguists ensured
that every document was meticulously examined and revised.
A project lead was designated to oversee this project, employing both conventional project management techniques and technology. In addition to streamlining the project lifecycle, the project lead also ensured that rigorous quality checks were conducted before delivery.
